Los Alamos Theatre Group
The Los Alamos Theatre Group, a zero profit assemblage of actors, musicians, technicians, carpenters, designers, and clever friends, was established in November, 2018. A wholly volunteer group, most of whom maintain full time jobs, the LATG donates the money we receive from ticket sales to local non-profit organizations. The theatre company is challenged by the scripts they’re given, and the tasks set out for them. The group rehearses for months for a handful of performances. And because we give more than we receive, we usually sleep well at night.
To date, with our sincere thanks to everyone who purchased tickets or made sponsorship donations in the past, we’ve been able to produce nine original plays. We’ve done drama, mystery, comedy, and musicals. We were given a large theatre space in town, at zero cost to us. Our troupe has grown from 8 to 20. We’ve gotten local businesses involved in supporting roles, and our audience grows with each new production.
Some LATG donees: Los Alamos Foundation (Summer In The Park, and Student Desk and Chair Project), Shadow’s Fund, Deity Dog Rescue, Los Alamos Senior Center, SYV Animal Shelter, No More Secrets, Los Alamos Kitty Rescue, Olga Reed School, Olga Reed PTSA, Search Dogs of America Foundation, Friends of The Los Alamos Library, Friends of The Los Alamos Valley Cemetery, Feed The Valley, World Central Kitchen, Paso Robles Youth Arts Foundation, LAVMC’s “When You Wish Upon A Star” holiday event, Home Base Veterans program, and recently we were able to help families displaced by a very destructive fire in our town.
COTTONWOOD, our newest play, will open in the spring of 2024.
